Announcing: Mobile's Transit Future

Better transit is coming to Mobile in September 2026.

Mobile’s bus system hasn't changed much in more than 20 years. But over the last two decades, our city has grown and changed a lot! The old system doesn't match what people need today. We are using modern technology and data to build a completely upgraded system that fits our growing city. View our Community Engagement calendar and get involved here

Get Ready to Ride: Community Engagement

Second Line Transit is preparing to launch new fixed routes and expanded microtransit service this September, and we want every rider in Mobile to feel confident and ready before the new system begins. In the weeks ahead, our team will be out across the community, including bus stops, senior centers, malls, and neighborhood events, to offer multiple ways to connect, ask questions, and get personalized help planning your trips under the new network.

There are three ways to connect with the Second Line team before launch:

1. Office Hours

Look for our tabletop sessions at key locations along the transit system routes, such as the GM&O Transit Center, Prichard Hub, Walmart, and Bel Air Mall. Stop by to speak directly with a transit representative, learn about the new microtransit service, review upcoming route changes, and get one-on-one help planning trips.

2. Ride-Alongs

Our team members will be riding along on Routes 1, 4, 7, 9, and 15 during select dates and times. Hop on and ask us anything in real time. We’ll share informational materials and help you get a first look at how your trip may change once the new network takes effect.

3. Education Session Requests

Represent an organization, employer, or community group? Request a dedicated education session or tabling visit tailored to your members, employees, or constituents. This is a great way for larger groups to get all their questions answered at once.
